SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Authorities in Silicon Valley are trying to identify the maker or owner of a quilt that was found on the body of a woman who was strangled 25 years ago.
The Santa Clara County District's Attorney's Office released a photo of the quilt on Thursday. They hope someone will recognize it and come forward with information that will lead to whoever killed 38-year-old Cathy Zimmer.
Zimmer, a mother of two, was found slain in the backseat of her car in a San Jose airport parking lot on March 10, 1989. She was covered by the quilt.
She had gone missing two days earlier after driving her kids to school, having lunch with a friend and attending college.
Prosecutors say no one close to Zimmer was able to identify the quilt.
