MALIBU, Calif. (AP) -

Investigators say a tow truck driver hooking up to a disabled car in Malibu has been struck and killed by a drunken driver who fled the scene.

Pacific Coast Highway was shut down from Pepperdine University to the Malibu Pier for nearly eight hours before reopening just before 5 a.m. on Tuesday.

Los Angeles County sheriff's investigators say the tow truck driver was struck on southbound PCH at about 9 p.m.

The driver didn't stop. Her car slammed into a parked vehicle two miles away near the Malibu Pier.

City News Service says the woman, whose name is being withheld, was taken to a hospital for examination and she will be booked for investigation of felony hit-and-run and drunken driving.

The tow truck driver's name hasn't been released.
