Visalia police say an elementary-school custodian has been arrested on suspicion of having inappropriate contact with children.

The Visalia Times-Delta reports that officers on Tuesday arrested 30-year-old Antonio Cordova and booked him on two counts of lewd acts on a child. The arrest was made after students at Oak Grove Elementary School reported the suspicious activity to a teacher.

The Visalia Police Department says Cordova had inappropriate contact with at least two female students, ages 8 and 10.

The school's principal John Davis says he asked the janitor not to come to school and sent out an automated call to all parents.

Attempts to reach Cordova and his lawyer were unsuccessful.
