LOS ANGELES - Authorities now say 27 people were hurt when a dump truck hit a Los Angeles County transit bus, which then smashed head-on into a car on Hollywood Boulevard.

Metropolitan Transportation Authority spokesman Jose Ubaldo says the unoccupied dump truck rolled down a hill and T-boned the bus shortly before 8 a.m. Tuesday.

The westbound bus struck a sedan in eastbound lanes.

Fire spokesman Brian Humphrey says a woman taking her 10-year-old daughter to school suffered a broken leg and had to be cut from the car. She's hospitalized in serious condition. The daughter freed herself and was treated for minor injuries.

The MTA says 25 people were on the bus. Humphrey says the driver was hospitalized in fair condition and all the passengers were treated for bumps, bruises and cuts.
