Survey shows job market may be improving


(AP) -- A new survey suggests that Americans are feeling more confident about the U.S. job market and economists say that could help boost the economy if it continues.
The 2012 General Social Survey, a long-standing poll, finds that Americans increasingly feel they could find a new job if necessary.
Fear of being laid off dropped last year from its 2010 peak to roughly its average for the 35 years the question has been asked.
