Officials: Shooting may have happened on roof

BOCA RATON, Fla. -  

One person has been shot at the Florida Atlantic University Boca Raton campus, according to a police spokesperson.

The shooting may have happened on a roof, but that has not been confirmed.

"An incident on the FAU campus was isolated and the situation is under control. Boca police is assisting FAU Police - Campus NOT on lockdown." Boca Raton police tweeted.

There is currently police presence on the campus and an ambulance was seen leaving around 11 a.m.

There are police taking pictures on the roof of one of the buildings.

There are people who work in the building who aren't being allowed in right now. The school has not been evacuated and is not on lockdown.

Boca Raton police Mobile Incident Command Unit arrived on scene around 11:30 a.m.

Florida Atlantic University Chief Charles Lowe and Boca Raton Police Chief Dan Alexander are making a statement about the incident at 12:00 p.m. on the campus at 3701 NW 8th Avenue, also known as FAU Boulevard.
