WWII bomber plane to land in Bakersfield

Public can purchase tickets to fly in plane

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A piece of World War II History will land in Bakersfield.

A B-17 bomber 'Flying Fortress' airplane will land at Meadows Field today and will offer flights to the public this coming weekend.

The plane is nicknamed 'Memphis Belle' after the famous World War II bomber and organizers said it's a special look at history in action.

Tickets can be bought to fly in the plane this weekend.  Tickets costs $450 per person and each flight is 45 minutes long.

All funds raised by the flights will help support the Liberty Foundation, the non-profit flying museum which offers the rides.
