It happened just before 2 a.m. Sunday in the parking lot of Stella's Sandtrap Lounge on Niles Street.

Deputies said 34-year-old Roman Fernandez was shot in the torso. He was taken to Kern Medical Center where he died.

Deputies said patrons were leaving the bar when they reported hearing a gunshot, and saw a dark colored pick-up truck speeding off eastbound on Niles street with two or three Hispanic men inside.

The owners at the bar told 23ABC they don't believe the victim was a patron at the bar.
