Neighbors and friends said Trinity's mom is 27-year-old Angela Vickrey.

Foster was Vickrey’s live-in boyfriend.

Deputies said Vickrey took Trinity to San Joaquin Community Hospital Tuesday evening. Investigators said the girl had significant trauma over most of her body and head. Doctors declared Trinity dead in the emergency room.

Neighbors and friends said the little girl had just been released from the hospital after being treated for a scalding burn. One friend told us the girl had to have skin grafts.

People who live next door to the family said the scalding incident was an accident and they don’t believe Vickery could hurt her little girl.

Vickery was a hair stylist in Taft.

Co-workers said she had moved to Taft from the Los Angeles area to clean up her life.

Foster is being held on $1.3 million bail.

An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.
