The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the communitys assistance in locating a missing person who police said disappeared under suspicious circumstances.
Police said that Frank Lew Adams Jr., 24, has been missing since Oct. 15.
Adams' wife said she dropped Adams off in the 8000 block of Big Bear Street at about 5:20 p.m. that day so he could make contact with someone he knew inside the home.
When Adams didnt come out of the house, his wife called the police department, Sgt. Mary DeGeare said.
Frank Adams is 5 feet 9 inches tall, 235 pounds and has shaved black hair, brown eyes and a mustache and goatee.
Officers went to the home and were told by the occupant that Adams left the residence with another person through the back yard.
The occupant of the home allowed the officers to search the residence and Adams was not located.
When Adams failed to return home on Saturday, a missing person investigation was initiated.
On Tuesday morning, the Kern County Fire Department was called to the same home in the 8000 block of Big Bear Street for a residential fire and that situation is still being investigated by arson investigators.
Bakersfield police detectives assigned to the missing persons investigation said it is not likely Adams would have left the home in the manner described and then fail to contact his wife unless there was something awry, DeGeare said.
Detectives assigned to the case have been contacted by several people, anonymous and otherwise. Detective Jim Moore is specifically interested in speaking with a person who identified themselves by first name only and would like that person to recontact him at the same number.
Anyone with information regarding Adams or his disappearance is encouraged to call Moore at 661-326-3567.
