Environmental health says Reagant workers were distributing hydrochloric acid into containers around six in the morning Friday at the Reagant Chemical Facility, when two spills occurred.County Environmental Health officials said they don't know how much hydrochloric acid was released when it vaporized, creating a cloud the size of one to two football fields.Four people at an adjacent business were exposed but declined medical treatment, officials said.Officials said hydrochloric acid can cause damage to your mucuous membranes lungs and permanent lung damage.It's an incident that has happened before. Two years ago, reagent had another hydrochloric acid spill. The company was given a violation and fined $15,000.Its unknown if Friday's incident will result in a violation. But it has definitely sparked an investigation by County Environmental Health.
