Melissa Vreeman, Morning Weather Anchor

Melissa Vreeman is thrilled to join ABC 23 as your Morning Weather Anchor!

Melissa has always considered herself a morning person and could not be happier to bring you your local weather forecast, first in Kern County!

You can catch Melissa on Good Morning Kern County from 4:30 AM to 7 AM, Good Morning America from 7 AM to 9 AM and on ABC 23 News at 11 AM.

Melissa brings her love of animals to work. In addition to providing your friendly weather forecast, Melissa introduces you to the ABC 23 Pet of the Week.

Melissa also covers Charity & Community Events here in Kern County.

Melissa found her calling in broadcasting while working for KZSW-TV in Temecula, CA. She Anchored the Weather for KZSW-TV for two years before joining the KERO-23 News Team in January of 2008. Melissa is now actively pursuing a degree in Broadcast Meteorology.

Melissa was born in Washington State and raised in Southern California. According to Melissa, moving to Bakersfield has been the best move of her life. Being from the small town of Temecula, Melissa appreciates the “small town feel” of Bakersfield and the welcoming residents of Kern County.

Some of Melissa’s hobbies include volunteering at the County Animal Shelter, photography, fun in the sun, spending time with loved ones and rollerblading on the bike trail with her Border Collie Shelby.
