Jets Sign Former Packer DB Carroll

POSTED: 9:14 pm PDT July 22, 2008

(Sports Network) - The New York Jets signed former Green Bay Packers defensive back Ahmad Carroll on Tuesday.

Carroll, a former highly-touted, first-round selection (25th overall) by Green Bay in the 2004 NFL Draft, spent last season playing for the Orlando Predators of the Arena Football League. The 5-foot-10, 190-pound Carroll was waived by the Packers in 2006, and was signed by Jacksonville only to play in one game before being waived in May 2007.

The former Arkansas product totaled 102 tackles, three sacks and three interceptions in 34 career NFL games.
