Teen Arrested In Connection With Store Owner Stabbing

SHAFTER, Calif. -- A teen has been arrested, accused of stabbing a store owner during a robbery on Monday.Around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, deputies from the Wasco Substation, Sheriff's Gang Unit, Sheriff's K-9 and officers from the Shafter Police Department, went to the 400 block of E. Euclid Ave., in Shafter, in an attempt to locate Daniel Gutierrez, 19.Gutierrez was wanted on charges of attempted murder charges for stabbing the owner of the Bedettadini’s Cigarette Store, at 2355 Hwy. 46, in Wasco, on Monday, deputies said.
Deputies said they found Gutierrez hiding in the attic of an apartment at the home. Gutierrez surrendered without incident and was taken into custody.Gutierrez was booked into the Sheriff’s Central Receiving Facility on charges of attempted murder.His bail has been set at $1,000,000.Gutierrez was also booked on two outstanding warrants. One warrant charged Gutierrez with kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, making terrorist threats, burglary and child endangerment. Bail was set at $250,000.The second warrant, a no bail warrant, charged Gutierrez with being under the influence of a controlled substance.
