Police: Gang Meets For Retaliation Plan Against Police
7 Arrested During Sweep

McFARLAND, CAlif. -- The Street Intervention Team (S.I.T.) initiated an organized gang sweep targeting the “Myfas & South Side Boy’s” criminal street gangs in the City of McFarland, on Friday.These gangs were targeted for recent and confirmed threats of retaliation to harm officers of the McFarland Police Department, police said.The gang actually organized and scheduled a meeting at a residence in the 800 block of North Third Street, in the City of McFarland to discuss retaliation plans, deputies said.
Deputies said the meeting was interrupted by the Street Intervention Team and several gang members were arrested at the location.Assisting agencies of the Street Intervention Team involved in “Operation Impact” were the cities of Arvin; Bakersfield, Delano, Shafter, Stallion Springs and Tehachapi Police Departments. Agents from the FBI agents also assisted in the operation.Deputies said there were 24 gang member locations targeted in the operation.The Street Intervention Team arrested seven documented gang members; towed two vehicles and issued multiple citations, police said.Charges for those arrested were weapons offenses, narcotics offenses, resisting arrest and felony warrants.Arrested gang members were booked into both the City of Delano Jail and the Central Receiving Facility in the City of Bakersfield.The information identifying the adults arrested in the operation will be forwarded to the City of McFarland Police Department, after the individual law enforcement agencies have filed their cases with the Kern County District Attorney’s Office.The McFarland Police Department said it is committed to providing safety and harmony to the citizens of the City of McFarland and to the reduction of gang activity and their crimes.
