BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- A suspected drunken driver is under arrest after a deadly crash along Lerdo Highway that killed his passenger, according to the California Highway Patrol.The Chevy SUV was found around 6:15 a.m. Friday lying on its side near the highway, though officers with the California Highway Patrol said they were not sure when the driver lost control and crashed the SUV.The CHP said the driver crossed the highway and rolled, ejecting both him and his passenger.
His passenger, Antonio Diaz Garcia, 46, of Lost Hills, died at the scene, and the driver was airlifted to Kern Medical Center where he has since been released and was arrested on charges of felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter.The CHP said neither the driver nor Garcia were wearing their seatbelts.
