Man Dies After Vehicle Overturns

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- A deadly accident Friday morning on Interstate 5 claimed the life of a Chula Vista man.The California Highway Patrol said that 55-year-old Alex Ayson Solis lost control of his Ford Explorer on northbound Interstate 5 just south of the Highway 46 exit.The SUV veered off the road, hit a message board and went through a perimeter fence before landing upside down, the CHP reported.
The CHP said there were a total of six people inside the SUV.Solis died at the scene.Another passenger was airlifted to Kern Medical Center with major injuries and four others were taken by ambulance to area hospitals with major to moderate injuries.The CHP said the accident is still under investigation and that Solis was wearing his seatbelt.
