UPDATED: 7:49 pm PDT September 3, 2010

Authorities continue to search for two sisters who disappeared five years ago from their home in shafter. Yadira Urias who is now 19 years old, said she last saw her sisters, Viridiana Urias, then 15 years old, and Yamile Aguilar, who was 4 years old, on September 06, 2005. Hugo Garcia Aguilar, the suspect, dropped them off at school that day. “It was strange for him to drop us off, but I didn’t think anything of it,” said Urias. Later she suspected something was wrong when her mother, Luz Espinoza, was waiting for her outside of school. That’s when Urias found out both of her sisters were missing. “My mom went back to the apartment to look for something. She noticed my little sister's clothes weren't there, so then she went in our room and checked for my older sister’s clothes and she realized they were also missing. She then checked for his clothes, and they were gone too,” Said Urias. Since then no one has heard from the 2 sisters. Police have a warrant out for Hugo Garcia Aguilar, the father of the girls but authorities believe he fled to Mexico with the girls. Viridiana is now 21 years old, and Yamile is 9 years old. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has also joined the effort in finding the two sisters. If you know of their whereabouts, you can call 800-THE-LOST (1-800-843-5678).
