BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Back on Oct. 2, Jay Reyna went to Ashley Furniture to buy a bedroom set for one of his twin girls. Reyna figured that was more than enough time for the furniture to get there before his daughters' birthday on Nov. 19. The furniture was going to be a gift for the girl's birthday, but one of the twins ended up sleeping on the floor.Reyna's other daughter liked a bedroom set at a different furniture shop, after that purchase, the set arrived within a week. The Ashley salesperson told Reyna that the set would arrive by Oct. 24, but about a month later, the furniture still didn't arrive. Reyna paid more than $800 for the entire bedroom set at Ashley, but ended up buying another bedroom set at a different retailer, and that set arrived quickly.Reyna just wanted his money back from Ashley, but he said that for weeks now all he got was the corporate run-around. ABC 23 contacted Ashley Furniture's corporate offices, which couldn't comment about the furniture delay but said they are doing everything possible to get Reyna his money back.
Late Tuesday afternoon, Reyna told ABC23 that after the TV station's call to the corporate offices, they contacted him and told him they will send him is refund overnight express. Then after the story aired on ABC 23, the local store manager called and said he has only been on the job for three days and said while is not aware of this particular situation, he is working to resolve other customer problems created by prior management.
