K.C. Acquires Forward Thompson From FC Dallas

Kansas City, KS -- (Sports Network) - The Kansas City Wizards acquired forward Abe Thompson from FC Dallas on Friday for allocation money.

In four seasons with Dallas, Thompson started 32 of the 69 regular season games in which he appeared and scored 14 goals while adding 11 assists. Thompson was taken in the second round (16th overall) by Dallas in the 2005 MLS Supplemental Draft.

Thompson's six goals in 11 career U.S. Open Cup matches for Dallas are most in team history. In 2008, he scored three goals in 13 games (four starts), and two goals two U.S. Open Cup games.
