Felix Rodrigues Lima, South County Reporter
Felix is a general assignment reporter for KERO. He joined the ABC23 news team in June of 2006.The latest person in his family to enter the journalism field, Felix is the first to work in the U.S. His father was a radio reporter in Buenos Aires, his grandfather was a newspaper photographer and his uncle is the editor-in-chief for a newspaper in Mar del Plata, Argentina. Felix jokingly says he got into television news since it’s the only medium his family hasn’t worked in yet!Born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, Felix is an alumnus of the University of Southern California with degrees in broadcast journalism and history. He says he already has many memories from reporting; some intense (including night watch with the Minutemen in Arizona), others not so much (like being licked by LA County’s voting mascot, Dots the Dalmatian, in the middle of a story). Several of his stories have been featured on ABC World News Now and CNN, and his reporting has been honored by the Society of Professional Journalists.
Felix got his start in broadcasting at Annenberg TV News, USC’s live daily newscast. He was a reporter, executive producer and anchor at ATVN, and covered everything from wildfires and crime investigations to politics and education. He also spent two years behind the microphone at Trojan sporting events, which included roaming the sidelines at USC football games and calling the action from the women’s Pac-10 basketball tournament and women's volleyball Final Four.Felix enjoys travelling to foreign countries with his girlfriend Briana, playing sports and watching movies when he’s not reporting the news.
