Patriotic Message Given On Labor Day In Arvin

ARVIN, Calif. -- Dozens of homes flew the red, white and blue on this Labor Day to spread the message of patriotism and help local high school students.The Arvin Exchange Club has been planting flags in the front yards of homes in the city for almost 50 years, to help fund scholarships for students at Arvin High School, Bill Stoner, of the Exchange Club, said.Volunteers plant the flags on all national holidays at about 80 homes in Arvin, and residents pay a small fee for the service.
