Around around 8:45 a.m. Dec. 2, the Bakersfield Police Department responded to reports of a dead woman.When officers arrived, they said that Hayne was seen waiting in front of a mobile home with blood on his hands and body.Officers immediately detained Hayne after, they said, he called 911 reporting that his roommate was dead in her southwest Bakersfield home.Neighbors told ABC23 that his roommate was his girlfriend, but police have not confirmed that information.Police said that Darlene Michelle McDaniel, 42, was found with knife wounds to the upper portion of her body.Investigation revealed that Hayne stabbed the woman to death prior to placing the 911 call.Hayne’s trail is set to start in March.
