Police: Clerk Punched Several Times In Face During Robbery

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying a person involved in a strong arm robbery.Around 1:50 p.m. on Feb. 4, police said, a man removed a pair of shoes from Marshall's, 3008 Ming Ave., and exited without paying.When an employee of the business confronted the man, he punched the employee several times in the face and rode away on a black BMX style bicycle, Sgt. Mary DeGeare said.
The man is described as black, between 18-21 years old. He is between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall, 150 pounds and was last seen wearing black gym shorts with a red and white strip down the side, turquoise T-shirt with a white under shirt and black shoes.Any information regarding the identity of the man, please contact Detective C.
