Bakersfield -- The BC football team will meet #1 seeded and undefeated Mt. San Antonio College in the Southern California Semifinals on Saturday.

Renegades Head Coach Jeff Chudy is "less than excited" about the 1 pm kick-off. Considering the budget restrictions, the Gades will likely travel to Mt. SAC the morning of the game which will make for an early wake-up call.

BC advanced in the state playoffs after capturing the Golden Empire Bowl in dramatic fashion, defeating Allan Hancock 24-21. Josh Gallington booted the winning field goal as time expired.

Rishard Matthews was named Golden Empire Bowl MVP. Tailback Ben Estill earned Offensive MVP honors.

Vince Van Horne caught the touchdown and two point conversion that tied the game at 21 for the Renegades with 6:14 remaining in the fourth quarter.
