Corpus Christi, TX -- Playing its first Division I postseason game, the CSUB women's basketball team came up short against Texas A&M Corpus Christi 97-89 in overtime Wednesday night in the first round of the Women's Basketball Invitational.

Phynique Allen scored a game-high 36 points to pace CSUB. Katie Williams added 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Allen, Williams, Jana Smith, and Tamiko Davis all fouled-out as the Lady Runners compensated for the Islanders height advantage inside.

Corpus Christi outscored CSUB 13-5 in overtime to pull away for the victory.
