BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The 11th-ranked Cal women's basketball used a strong defensive performance to defeat Cal State, 84-46, Friday night at the Icardo Center.
Tyanna Outland led CSUB with 12 points but the Golden Bears revved up the defensive pressure on the Roadrunners by scoring 22 points off 22 CSUB turnovers.
The Golden Bears shot 50 percent for the contest while holding the Roadrunners to just 32 percent shooting.
Cal also outrebounded CSUB by a 48-23 margin and outscored them 50-16 in the paint.
CSUB resumes play Sunday when they travel to UC Irvine for a 1pm tip.
