30 points, 7 boards for Ryan Kelly, leads D-fenders to win over Jam in NBA D-league ball, highlights

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Jam (1-4) fell to the Los Angeles D-Fenders (1-2) 131-96 Sunday evening at the Dignity Health Event Center.
 
Down eight at the break (58-50), Bakersfield struggled in the third quarter offensively and defensively as they shot just 33 percent from the field and got outscored 33-21. With a 20-point deficit entering the final 12 minutes of the game (91-71), the Jam could not get continuous stops on the defensive side and fell behind by as many as 37 points. Bakersfield turned the ball over 27 times in the game and shot 44 percent from free-throws (15-of-34).
 
Akeem Scott led the way for Bakersfield with a team-high 20 points. Brian Butch posted a double-double of 16 points and 17 rebounds. James Nunnally also recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Mac Koshwal finished with 14 points and seven rebounds.
 
The D-Fenders were paced by Ryan Kelly, on assignment from the Los Angeles Lakers, who scored a game-high 30 points, grabbed seven rebounds and had five steals. Travis Hyman scored 19 points, Josh Magette had 17 points and Brandon Costner finished with 16 points.
 
Same two teams will face each other again on Friday, December 7 at 7:00 p.m. in Bakersfield.
