BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The 40th anniversary of tennis' Maze Cup is coming to Bakersfield this weekend.
However, the tennis tournament for juniors between NorCal and SoCal participants, always at the Bakersfield Racquet Club when hosted in Kern County, has a new home this weekend in the Stockdale Country Club.
Stockdale CC not only is the host, but is helping the tournament celebrates 40 years of competition.
Bakersfield native and former pro tennis player Hank Pfister is helping to organize the event and acknowledged how important this tournament has been to the community, players and Kern County as a whole in continuing the vision created by George Maze, Sr, who founded the tournament.
The Maze Cup will be held at Stockdale Country Club on Friday and Saturday.
