BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - 23ABC Sports Director Preston Mitchell dusted the cobwebs off his shooting arm and defeated Flight Time of the Harlem Globetrotters in a game of H.O.R.S.E. Monday afternoon at Rabobank Arena.
Mitchell challenged the veteran Globetrotter and wasn't sure how he'd fare after not picking up a basketball for over two years.
However, Mitchell began with a short jumper to get the ball rolling and kept up the momentum, including making shots from the top of the key, an overhead, no-look shot from the free-throw line and several jumpers from beyond the arc.
Flight Time kept the pressure on with a dunk and between the legs layup but Mitchell stayed tough and held on for the win.
The Globetrotters will appear at Rabobank Arena Thursday night at 7PM.
