Bakersfield Christian Eagles stomp regional team 40 - 8, advance to state championship

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Bakersfield Christian High School stomped View Park in the Division IV Regional Bowl Game Friday.

In the third drive of the game, Brandon Jones hands off to Matt Smith for a touchdown. The point after was missed.

The View Park Knights suffered on offense and defense.

Brandon Jones hit Josh Jackson on a crossing pattern. Jackson spins for a touchdown.

Before the half, a Smith touchdown makes it 20 - 0.

In the fourth quarter, another crossing pattern to Jackson scores again.

In summary, the Eagles beat the Knights, 40 - 8.

BCHS is the second Kern County team to make the State Championship this year. BCHS and BHS are the first two Kern County teams to make the State Championship in the current system.

BCHS will face Modesto-Central Catholic for the D IV State Championship Friday at 4 p.m. at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif.
