Bakersfield High School Drillers win football semifinal in back and forth game, 35-28

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield High School Drillers are headed for the Division I State Football Championship Bowl Game.

Most Central Valley teams focus on the Valley title, but the Drillers were destined for more. The Drillers faced Mission Hills in San Diego Friday in the Regional Bowl Game, the semifinals.

They were the visiting team in the biggest game under Coach Golla.

In the first quarter, pushes down the field by Asauni Rufus and Deoin Nobles set up a fake handoff and an early touchdown.

The game went back and forth in thriller fashion, and BHS wins it 35 -28.

They will face Loomis Del Oro for the DI State Championship on Friday, Dec. 20 at 8 p.m. at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif.

Tickets for the 2013 CIF State Football Championship Bowl Games are available at ticketmaster.com.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for high school students, seniors and children.
