BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - An appeal to remove sanctions to the Bakersfield College football program was rejected Tuesday.
The Southern California Football Association officially denied the Renegades appeal of sanctions levied to the school's football program, which included the team's 2012 state football title being stripped.
The appeal, which BC filed June 12, also hoped to reinstate all wins from the 2011 and 2012 seasons, which had also been removed.
According to the SCFA, BC offered inappropriate enticements to its football players, including jobs, payments of rent and meals being paid for through an unofficial booster organization called "The Helmet Club".
BC can appeal this decision by the SCFA as well.
