BC gets four first-inning runs in its victory

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield College baseball team scored four first-inning runs and rode that momentum to a 9-3 victory over Valley College Thursday afternoon at Gerry Collis Field.
BC's Justin Martinez singled home Kyle Nixon to score the the game's first run in the first inning. Later in the inning, the Renegades Cole Hallum doubled to bring in Erik Williams and give BC a 2-0 advantage.
BC scored two more runs in that bottom of the first and had the lead cut to 4-2 after two innings.
However, the Renegades tacked on five more runs to get the runaway win.
