BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield College football team forced four turnovers and took a 28-7 halftime lead on its way to a 35-14 state championship victory over City College of San Francisco Saturday afternoon in front of a frenzied crowd of 11,769.

Running backs Jalen Sykes and Curtis McGregor scored first-quarter touchdowns and defensive lineman John Oglesby returned a fumble for a score.

The Renegades defense forced four turnovers to put the Rams in huge holes and their aggressiveness changed the complexion of the game by forcing numerous quick throws or throwing off the timing of many CCSF routes.

BC finishes on a nine-game winning streak and ends the season with an 11-2 mark.
