BC gets more time to appeal football sanctions

BC looking forward to appeal

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Bakersfield College officially requested an extension in filing an appeal with the Southern California Football Association Tuesday night, meaning BC will have another two weeks to prepare arguments against sanctions the school received May 14.

Those sanctions stemmed from a non-affiliated booster club, The Helmet Club, providing football players with money for jobs they performed, paying for housing during visits from recruits and paying rent for housing, among the school's seven violations.

BC now has until June 12 to complete its appeal.
