BC loses season finale to last-place Oilers team, now looking for a postseason bid

BC can't keep Oilers off basepaths in loss

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield College baseball team took an early lead, were caught and passed...twice, and in the end couldn't stop West L.A. in the Renegades 6-3 loss to the Oilers on Friday night at Gerry Collis Field.

The Renegades took a quick 2-0 lead in the second inning on the strength of a Cole Hallum solo homerun and RBI single from Rolando Martinez.

West L.A. would tie things in the third with the help of two unearned runs.

B.C. trailed 3-2 in the seventh but Hallum got things even with a RBI single.

However, the Oilers iced the game with three runs in the eighth to break that 3-3 tie.
