BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Black Squad's Preston Hodges returned a kickoff for a touchdown, added a safety and dominated the first half before defeating the Gold squad, 68-50, in the 12th U.S. Army Arena Bowl Friday night at Rabobank Arena.
The Gold squad cut their early deficit to 13-0 deficit to 13-7 after Kamari Cotton-Moya electrified the crowd with a kickoff return for a touchdown. However, that was the beginning of a scoring spree for the Black squad.
Corbin Jountti, Andrew Daughtery and Hodges all scored as the Black squad took a 42-14 halftime advantage.
The Gold came alive in the second half, with Cotton-Moya scoring two more touchdowns but, in the end, the Black had too much for the Gold to overcome.
