BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Visalia scored seven runs in the fifth inning and rod that explosion to a 14-9 win over the Blaze on Wednesday night in the final game of their three-game series with the Rawhide at Sam Lynn Ballpark.
Things began rough early for the Blaze when pitcher Jonathan Moscot walked in three runs in the first inning to give the Rawhide a 3-0 lead.
The Blaze cut the deficit to 3-2 in the bottom half of the inning on a RBI single from Steve Selsky and a sacrifice fly from Juan Silverio.,
However, the Rawhide blew the game open in the fifth when the Blaze allowed seven runs to cross the plate, two of them on bases loaded walks by reliever Kyle Lotzkar to help give Visalia an 11-2 lead.
Selsky would hit his seventh homer of the year, a three-run shot, in the sixth, however, the Rawhide would hold on to take the rubber match of the series.
The Blaze now head to Modesto for a four-game series beginning Thursday night before hitting the All-Star break.
