Blaze bullpen gives up long ball in loss

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The High Desert Mavericks took advantage of three homers in the sixth to change a 3-1 deficit into a lead it would never relinquish in a 6-3 win over the Blaze Friday night at Sam Lynn Ballpark.

Blaze starter Jon Moscot went five innings while allowing one earned, one walk, three hits and striking out five in a solid outing and leaving with that 3-1 advantage.

Kyle McMyne came on in relief in the sixth holding onto a 3-1 Blaze lead in the sixth until he allowed four runs, all on homeruns, as the Mustangs took a 5-3 lead.

in that sixth, Daniel Paolini led off with a solo homer to cut the High Desert deficit to 3-2.

Jabari Blash followed Paolini with a line drive to homer to left to tie things at three.

Later in the inning, Patrick Kivlehan singled and Dillon Hazlett drove him home with his fifth homer of the year, a two-run shot.

The Blaze have now split the first two games of the four-game homestand with the Mustangs.

Game three of the series is Saturday night at Sam Lynn Ballpark with a 7:45 start time.
