BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Blaze first baseman Steve Selsky committed a costly error helping Modesto get back in the game, gain momentum and eventually get a 6-3 win over the Blaze Wednesday night in the final game of their three-game series at Sam Lynn Ballpark.
The Blaze led 3-0 in the fourth and Selsky's throwing error following Brian Humphries single scored Tyler Massey to cut the deficit to 3-1. Modesto would eventually score four more runs in the inning, highlighted by Drew Beuerlein's basehit, which scored two runs.
Juan Silverio added his 13th homer of the year in the third inning but the Blaze were shut out over the final six innings by four different Nuts hurlers.
The Blaze have an off day Thursday before beginning a three-game series Friday night at Sam Lynn Ballpark when they host San Jose.
