Blaze get it done again, win fourth in a row with victory over High Desert

Blaze continue resurgence, defeat High Desert

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Blaze pitcher Carlos Contreras went five innings, gave up one earned run and struck out four in the team's 5-3 victory over High Desert Monday night at Sam Lynn Ballpark.

The victory was the fourth in a row for the Blaze, including their second in a row at home.

Monday night's affair turned when the Blaze, trailing 2-1 in the fifth, scored four runs to take a 5-2 lead it would never relinquish.

The big blow in the inning was a three-run homer from Blaze second baseman Ryan Wright.  It was his second homer of the year and propelled manager Ken Griffey's team to the victory.

Both teams play the final game of the three-game series Tuesday night at Sam Lynn Ballpark with a 7:30 scheduled start.
