Blaze go down to Lancasster, wind up being swept by Jethawks

Blaze score late, not enough in loss to Lancaster

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Lancaster had three home runs among their 10 hits in an 11-7 win over the Blaze Wednesday night at Sam Lynn Ballpark.

With the win, the Jethawks swept the three game series and handed the Blaze their sixth consecutive loss since a win over High Desert to begin the second half last week.

Telvin Nash, Chris Epps and Tyler Heineman went deep for the Jethawks, who scored 22 runs in the final two games of the series.

Blaze second baseman Ryan Wright hit his ninth homer of the year, a three-run shot in the ninth inning, to cut an 11-4 deficit to 11-7.

The Blaze hit the road Thursday for the beginning a seven-game road swing, starting with a four-game series at Visalia.
