Blaze snap four-game losing skid with 6-2 win over Modesto Tuesday night

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Chris Berset hit his fourth homer of the year and Steve Selsky drove in two runs as part of a four-run third inning in  the Blaze 6-2 defeat of Modesto Tuesday night at Sam Lynn Ballpark.

Berset's homer broke a 1-1 tie to lead off the third inning, the second consecutive night he drove in a run. 

After a walk to Juan Silva in the third, Junior Arias doubled down the leftfield line and scoring Silva to extend the Blaze lead to 3-1.

Juan Silverio was the next batter and his fly ball turned into a gift double when Nuts rightfielder Jared Simon misplayed Silverio's fly ball.

Selsky was up next and his single drove in both Silva and Silverio for a 5-1 lead it would never relinquish.

Blaze hurler Carlos Contreras got his fifth win by going six innings, giving up two earned runs and striking out eight.

The Blaze hit the road Wednesday night and visit Lake Elsinore in the first game of a six-game road trip.
