BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - CSUB's Tyler Shyrock's five hits helped the Roadrunners defeat the Nebraska Cornhuskers, 9-4, Friday afternoon at Hardt Field in the season-opener for CSUB.

The Roadrunners trailed, 2-0, after the top-half of the first but tied things up in the bottom half of the inning on a RBI single by Cael Brockmeyer and a RBI double by Dylan Christensen.

CSUB would eventually score six unanswered runs to take control of the game and make starter Jeff McKenzie's effort hold up.

McKenzie (1-0) went six innings, gave up five hits and three earned runs to record the win.
