CSUB proud to be sending five baseball players to the minors, will sign contracts before week ends

CSUB baseball program losing five players

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Five Cal State players selected in the Major League Draft earlier this month, will sign contracts with their teams by the end of the week, including pitcher Jeff McKenzie and shortstop Tyler Shyrock, both taken by the Chicago White Sox and heading to the Rookie League in Great Falls, Montana.

Pitcher Scott Bratvett, selected by the Cincinnati Reds, will begin in the Rookie League at Billings, Montana.

Hurler Chuck Buchanan, signed by the Atlanta Braves, is headed to Danville, Virginia, to begin his Rookie League assignment.

Meanwhile, catcher Cael Brockmeyer, selected by the Chicago Cubs, is headed to Boise, Idaho, of the Class A Northwest League.
