The CSUB men's basketball team survived a thriller on Friday in Las Vegas, defeating Utah Valley 81-80 in four overtimes in their WAC Tournament semi-final game.

The Runners trailed by 8 points with under three minutes to play before Jaylin Airington helped lead a charge. The senior finished with a game high 22 points and his basket off the glass tied the game at 52 with less than 16 seconds left to play.

UVU missed a potential game winning shot and the game went to overtime. But that was just the start.

The Wolverines would miss another potential game winner in overtime sending the game to double OT. This time the Runners had a shot to win the game but Airignton's shot at the buzzer hit twice off the rim before falling out.

In triple overtime CSUB built what looked to be a sizable enough lead thanks to Shon Briggs scoring inside. But Briggs, Airington and Matt Smith would all foul out and miss the final few minutes of play. Tied at 72 in triple OT, Dedrick Basile missed a shot at the buzzer sending the game into quadruple overtime.

Fallou Ndoye scored what proved to be the game winner in the 4th overtime and the Runners hung on for the one point win.

CSUB will play New Mexico State Saturday at 8 p.m. in the WAC Final.
