BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Wasco's Isaiah Hokit and Sean Medley lead a charge of five local wrestlers headed to state semifinal round.
Hokit, Medley, Bakersfield's Coleman Hammond and Bryce Martin and Frontier's Auggie Alcantar, advanced past the quarterfinal round and will hit the mat in semifinal action at the CIF State Wrestling Tournament Saturday night at Rabobank Arena.
Hokit came back from a 3-nothing deficit in his quarterfinal to win in overtime, 6-3.
Medley, top-seeded at 220 pounds, won his quarterfinal by fall while.
Hammond and Alcantar followed suit defeating their opponents by fall.
Semifinal action takes place Saturday night at Rabobank at 7:15pm.
