MIAMI, Fl. - A former Taft High School quarterback was recognized Tuesday for his talents off the field.

Dalton Botts, a Miami Hurricans punter, was named to the All-ACC Academic football team.

The 6-3, 207-lb senior was eligible for consideration by maintaining a 3.0 cumulative grade point average during his academic career.

Botts had been the Hurricanes starting punter in 2011 and 2012 after transferring from Moorpark College.
