FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State safety Phillip Thomas was named the Mountain West Conference's Defensive Player of the Week.
The former Bakersfield High standout garnered the award after having eight tackles, a forced fumble and his sixth interception of the year in the Bulldogs 28-7 win over Colorado State Saturday.
With his six interceptions, Thomas leads the Football Bowl Subdivision in that category.
